Essay
A lie rarely remains alone. To survive, it demands selective records, silence, incentives and further lies. Eventually, the organization loses the ability to perceive its own risk. Short-term convenience becomes a growing debt to reality.
The most disturbing aspect of Chernobyl is not only technical failure, but an environment where bad news endangers the person who reports it. When truth threatens status, the system rewards manufactured ignorance. The crisis then matures inside official language.
